Football really hasn’t felt that important this week. I’m so happy to see the improvements in Damar Hamlin’s health being reported and just hope he can lead as normal a life as possible, regardless of football.

Meanwhile, the season continues tonight in this slightly odd place where despite it being the last week, the NFL are still generating three standalone games, regardless of whether it puts a team like the Lions at a competitive disadvantage.

Thanks to our matching scores last week, I go into week eighteen with a healthy lead, but with how up and down my picks have been it’s more than possible Dan can over take me tomorrow.

It’s not the most enthralling of Saturday slates with the lines for both games around seven though you should not discount the Titans having their playoff hopes on the line tonight.

It does feel like the Chiefs will likely win their game against the Raiders, but having not exactly made a point of covering this season, I’m not sure if they’ll win by eight.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are coming off a strong win and are hosting a Titans team who have a lot of players injured and seem to limping to the end of the season, and are now on a six game losing streak. The Titans will win the division and make the play-offs if they can win tonight, but with rookie Malik Willis not inspiring and Joshua Dobbs about to get his second start at quarterback for the Titans having been signed on the 21^st of December it’s hard to pick them. It does make me hesitate about the pick though. The number is the right side of seven and the Jaguars have won four straight including convincing wins over the Jets and Texans. I am a little nervous about the pick, particularly as I have so much respect for Mike Vrabel but when your team’s sicscore at sicscore.com is in the mid 60s I can’t quite bring myself to back them to cover, even though it wouldn’t be a surprise if they did.

Survivor Competition

The Detroit Lions did the business for me against the Bears last week whilst the Eagles lost to the Saints, which sets me up with a point lead going into the final week. Dan has decided to put his hopes of a draw in the hands of the Bengals hosting the Ravens, whilst I don’t have any teams ranked that high so I am plumping for the Jaguars to get the win against the Titans at home as for me it was either that or back the Vikings on the road…
